
U. Ewert
Introduction
Dr. U. Ewert received a diploma in physics and theoretical chemistry from Humboldt University. In 1979, he obtained a PhD in Electron Spin Resonance Spectroscopy Simulation of Complex Compounds. From 1989 to 1990, he was a visiting teacher at the Baker Laboratory at Cornell University, USA. In 2000 he was appointed Director and Professor of the department "Non-Destructive Testing; Radiation Methods" at BAM. He was elected Chairman of the German Radiology Committee of the German Association for Non-Destructive Testing, member of the Advisory Board of the DGZfP and the International Society of Welding VA (Radiation Methods for Welding) subcommittee chairman. He is chairman and representative of several standards committees of ISO, CEN and ASTM. U. Ewert has been awarded the Berthold Prize of the DGZfP (2005), the Röntgen Prize of the City of Remscheid (2009) and the ASTM-International Briggs Award (2010) and BINDT's Roy Sharpe Award (2016).
