Introduction

Prof. Fu-Kuo Chang got his Ph.D in University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1983 and now he is a professor at Stanford University in United States.

His recent research topics include: Integrated health management for aircraft structures, bio-inspired intelligent sensory materials for fly-by-feel autonomous vehicles, active sensing diagnostics for composite structures, self-diagnostics for high-temperature materials, etc.

He has obtained 2010 SPIE NDE/SHM Life-Time Achievement Award, 2009 the Best Paper Award at 7th International National Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring, 2006 the Best Paper Award at 3rd European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring, 2004 Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) Lifetime Achievement Award, The Boeing Company, 1988 Presidential Young Investigator Award, Editor in Chief of Int. J. of Structural Health Monitoring, Fellows of AIAA and ASME.
