Introduction

Sohichi Hirose is a professor in the Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech), Tokyo, Japan, and is currently the president of the Japanese Society for Non-Destructive Inspection (JSNDI).

He received the degree of Dr. Eng. in Civil Engineering from Kyoto University, Japan in 1987. After working as an assistant professor at Kyoto University and an associate professor at Okayama University, he joined Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1998.

His research interests are numerical simulation of wave propagation and scattering of elastic waves, ultrasonic signal processing and flaw imaging.
