Xiaozhou Liu

Professor, director of the Key Laboratory of Modern Acoustics, Institute of Acoustics, Nanjing University

Director of the Key Laboratory of Modern Acoustics of the Ministry of Education, Chairman of the Chinese Acoustical Society and the Physical Acoustics Branch of the Jiangsu Acoustic Society. He graduated from the Department of Electronic Science and Engineering of Nanjing University in 1998 with a Ph.D. From 1999 to 2000, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Shanghai Jiaotong University, and in 2009, he was a visiting scholar at the Materials Research Institute of Pennsylvania State University.

 

Research results

He has published more than 100 papers in domestic and foreign academic journals and international conferences, and has won two National Education Commission Science and Technology Progress Awards (2007, ranked third; 1997, ranked sixth), and the first prize of Far East Nondestructive Testing Papers (2011, ranked Second); Outstanding Academic Paper Award by Sichuan Association for Science and Technology (2006, ranked first); Outstanding Young Paper Award of China Acoustical Society (2003, ranked second) and a postdoctoral award fund of Shanghai Jiaotong University (2001 Year, ranking first), has presided over the completion of two National Natural Science Foundation of China projects; participated in the completion of five National Natural Science Foundation of China (including two key funds) and completed a China Postdoctoral Fund research. A new type of piezoelectric ultrasonic sensor has been successfully developed, which has reached the international advanced level and passed the appraisal of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology. Four national invention patents have been obtained.
